Training

Training is one of the most important things that we must do so we can improve in what every our goals are.  When I speak of training I am just not stating this for martial arts, it is important in any sport that we do it does not matter if your playing a contact sport like football or even chess.  The principle of training is the same but just applied in different ways based on your needs.

Everyone has different abilities that are strong and weak.  The difference will be the training you receive to improve on your weak areas and make your strong ones even stronger.  It is my thoughts that everyone can learn no matter of the age.  I have seen some that pick it up pretty fast and are what some would say naturals at what ever they are doing.  I have also seen people that need the mule treatment for them to understand what they need.  What I call the mule treatment is getting their attention first then teaching them what is needed.

It is important to understand that you only get out of your training what you put into it.  That is a cold hearted fact of life and it is better to understand it in your class or sport during your training time than finding out the hard way in some kind of event or even worse a life threatening situation.  Your coach or teacher should never allow this to happen if he or she knows you need a reality check.  Now after staying that there is no reason for you not to be able to express your confidence there is a difference.  If you are one of the people that can backup what they say just remember to do it with respect because a good athlete or martial artist would show respect.  It is just that simple.

You must set goals so that your always striving to improve in what your doing because with out them it is easy to get lost in our purpose and it is hard at times to find it again.  Depending on what martial art or sport you’re doing you should always strive for a workout that pushes you to the next level.  There is a big difference between mental training and physical training but they are both just as important.  You can be physically ready and defeated easy if your mental focus is not there and it can work the other way around if your not physically ready but are mentally.  There are different ways to explain it some would even say you have or don’t have heart.  And if you look at it with a open mind you will find 99 percent of the time it will have something to do with your training schedule that also includes what you eat, drink and your sleep.  If you don’t think all of it works together as you get order you will find that your body is not able to take it like it should because you did not train correctly and it is catching up with you.

Now some of you can relate to what I have been saying and some of you will think that I am full of bull and that is okay with me.  But let me say this I am getting close to fifty years old and when I was young playing sports in school and professionally I did not take care of my body the way I should with my training and nutrition needs because I never thought I would live past 40 years old.  Now that I am over 40 I have learned the value of training correctly for my needs and just as important the nutrition.  I leave the rest for you to ponder on.

Train hard and train safe.
